Your Garden

Your garden is the first impression visitors get of your home, so we encourage our residents to maintain their gardens at all times. A well cared for garden can be somewhere safe for children to play or simply a peaceful place to sit and watch the world go by.

And for all you budding gardeners, we hold an annual garden competition. Keep an eye on our website and newsletters to find out more!

Green Charter

Our grounds maintenance team Green Charter maintain our public open spaces and some of our communal land. We aim to:

  • Cut the grass once every two weeks.
  • Reduce hedges in winter and then trim them in spring (we will not carry out any hedge cutting during the summer months in order to allow the birds to nest).
  • Cut back any branches that overhang pathways or are a danger to the public.
  • Reduce and clean out all shrub beds during the winter, the bed will then receive a covering of wood chippings and a weed spray to keep the weeds at bay during the summer months.

During the winter months our team are out and about revamping shrub beds, planting trees or helping to deliver the Neighbourhood Plans.

If you are struggling to maintain your garden, we offer a low cost option for a Green Charter team to assist you. You can find out more in our leaflet opposite, or by calling us on 0161 331 2000.
